Going For A Trip On Our Favorite Rocketship
May 23rd, 2008 | By Darren | Category: LifeI know, where oh where have I been??!! I guess everyone needs a little break now and then but I am going to try and come here more often and put some things down on. So what have I been up to?
I started my new job about a month and a half ago and things are going well. The people are super nice, the stress is much less than my previous job which is good for me and my family. They feed us every Friday which is pretty cool. I have a 10 minute commute, in the reverse direction of all the traffic. The downside is there is more downtime than the last job I had so some days are painfully slow while others seem to fly by.
We finally sold our Mustang. Yes, it was a little sad as that car kicked ass and was a lot of fun to drive but it was just sitting in the front of the house, never really moving. It wasn’t paid off and we still had to keep it insured so as much as we wanted to keep it, the best thing to do was to get rid of it. A family that lives near us bought it for their teenage daughter. The father was a complete helmet throughout the whole process and from the minute I met him, I didn’t like the way he’d make little comments about everything and everyone. Thankfully the whole process is done and he is out of my hair. I just hope she’s careful with the car but I remember myself as a teenage driver and I know a teenage + convertible mustang = many problems.
The front of our house is finished. The last step was to redo the siding on the front of the house which we did. I have to say, the house looks like a completely different house from when we bought it. Even our neighbors seemed happy we did it and seem to really like us. They made a comment the other night that she never really spoke with the previous owners as they never came out of their house which just confirms what I already knew about them…that they didn’t do a lick of work on their house.
Dylan just turned two and is now the proud owner of A LOT of Thomas The Tank Engines. He got a table with train track and pretty much every Thomas Train imaginable. There are so many trains that I am tripping over them everywhere I go. He also got a very large Lightning McQueen that he tries to sneak into bed every night. Thankfully it’s not easy to sneak into bed otherwise I might hear “kaPow…kaChow” in the middle of the night. A cute little story about Dylan…Dylan has the tendency to talk in his sleep. The other night, I’m guessing around 2 am, I was woken up by Dylan screaming “MORE TRAIN!!” Of course he went back to sleep and I had to lie in bed chuckling at how much he loves his trains, so much so that he’s dreaming about playing with them in his sleep.
That’s it for now, enjoy your weekend… Happy Summer!!
sounds like you have been busy with lots of changes!
Glad things are going well….good luck with the new job! Id love anyone that fed me at work every Friday!!!!
Enjoy the weekend!
