The Weeklies #1
First off I have to say that this is not an original idea on my part. I’ve been reading Chris for a while now and he’s been doing it for quite a few weeks, so as they say, imitation is the sincerest form of flatery.
The Weekly Best Moment - Hands down it was on New Years Day. I got to spend all day with Dylan and when it came to naptime, instead of trying to put him down in his crib, we went up to Mommy and Daddy’s bed and the two of us took a nice long nap.
The Weekly Worst Moment - I had to work in between Christmas and New Years but it was extremely quiet. Wednesday was a horrible day. I had 3 project managers get on me about current projects before I could even sit down and get situated. Problems popped up all day long on one project and my boss kept coming to me for opinions on future possibilities. Back to reality. Of course, a runner up would be the fact that I accidentally deleted this post from my site and now I have to re-write it.
The Weekly Read - Before I get into it, I have to say I don’t read books in a week like Chris does so instead I will post interesting things I’ve learned from the book I am reading. Slash’s biography was on my Amazon Wish List and my Mother-in-Law got it for me for Christmas. So far I have to say Slash has lead quite the interesting life. I learned that he has a defibrillator in his chest to control his heart that had been badly damaged during his excessive lifestyle. He mentions in the book that during the first Velvet Revolver tour, he can recall it shocking his heart into rhythmn 3 or 4 times a night. Now my Father-in-Law had a defibrillator as well and I never recall him telling stories of it going off.
The Weekly Music - More often than not I dig out older CD’s rather than downloading buying new music, although I do that too. This past week I dugout “Come Feel” by The Lemonheads. I forgot how great Evan Dando was and I found out the played a show near my house a few days after Christmas. Glad to see he’s still out there and that his drug issues didn’t derail his career.
The Weekly Schadenfreude - The Britney saga continues and I have to say I feel bad for her. She obvioulsy needs some serious help and in need of a serious support structure around her. I hope she gets the help she needs because luckily her kids are probably to young to remember this part of their life but as they get older, they will need Britney to be a stable parent.
The Weekly Sports Rant - To know me is to know I am a hockey freak and I applaude the NHL for the outdoor game that was played this week but I have to wonder which marketing genius decided New Years Day aka College Bowl Game Day was a good day to do it. Ratings were decent but next year, maybe think about holding off a few weeks and playing it on the Saturday between the NFL Championship Games and the Super Bowl. I’d like to see either a double header in Giant Stadium that has a Ranger/Islanders game in the afternoon and a Devils/Flyers game at night or an Original 6 matchup like Toronto v Detroit played at a place like The Big House
