Updates Galore
House Update – Steps are nearing completion and now we need to focus on the part of the house that is rotting away from us. I think today Greg is going to dig out the front of the house so we can really see what is going on and how bad the situation really is. Tomorrow I have a guy that is coming in to brace the house and replace the rotted sections. He should be finished by Friday and Greg should be able to put the yard back against the house. I now have to replace the retaining wall that runs the length of the driveway because it is in the way at the moment so it will be removed in order to dig out the front of the house. I also think we are going to extend the stone that we did the steps in to a certain height across the front of the house (basically what is being replaced) and around the front door. We are fighting the insurance company at the moment. They say this isn’t covered but we think our policy suggests otherwise. The good news is that I don’t think this is going to cost as much as we first thought. I am not sure if it is because of who Greg knows or what but I am thankfully the cost has come down. Hopefully in a week or two this will all be done.
Dylan Update – He has started to say more words. He loves to say the word Elmo…. A LOT!! He also seems to love to say “All Done†when he is finished eating, or thinks he is finished eating, whatever the case may be. Of course “All Done†after two bites isn’t really “All Done.†Lately, Dylan hasn’t been sleeping in his own bed through the night. He wakes up in the middle of the night and the only fix seems to be sleeping with Mommy or Daddy. I know we are probably handling this wrong but this is the first thing that we aren’t 100% sure of what to do. We do have a toddler bed that we are thinking about putting in his room and trying. The only problem with the toddler bed is that he can easily get out of it and wander from his room but I think with the Toddler Bed if he wakes up, we can get him back to sleep in his own bed and then go back to our bed once he is asleep and get him out of the habit of sleeping in Mommy and Daddy’s bed. Seems like a good plan on paper anyway. I keep running into people from my high school at his Daycare. It’s pretty funny yet a little weird all at the same time. I think I have run into 3 people now and expect to run into more at this point.
Sports – Sox / Angels series starts up tomorrow. I so don’t want to see a NY/Boston ALCS, I am so done with that. I’d rather see a Sox/Indians ALCS. I don’t pay much attention to the National League so, I don’t know, go Phillies??? My Boys are 4-0 for the first time since 95 which they went on to win the Super Bowl that year. Hockey starts this week and I am writing for a Devils site this season which should make it interesting.
Weather – This is crazy, I leave the house in the morning dressed in long sleeves because it is like 40 degrees outside but by the afternoon its near 80….SUCKS!!
