Life Has Been Hard
Work…Ugh its been a killer lately. Back in July, right before we went to Boston I found out that I was being put on this big project at work. Now I work for a consulting company so needless to say, I am usually not in the office but usually at a client site somewhere. When I took this job, I asked the all might important question of “where are your clients currently located?” The answer I got was simple, it was “Usually no more than an hour from the office.” Well, the project that I got put on is currently in Philadelphia. Philly, home of the cheesesteak, championship-less teams since ‘83 and currently 2 hours and 15 min driving distance from my house, which is by the way 10 mins from the office. To say that this project has been taking a toll on me wouldn’t really do it justice. On top of all that, the project itself is extrememly stressful.
Anyway, last week I decided that for my sanity I was going to need to stay down in Philly for 2 nights. I knew I had to be down there most of the week and that driving the 2+ hours each way everyday was kind of out of the question. At the same time I didn’t want to stay because there hasn’t been a day since Dylan was born that I didn’t see him. I was worried about leaving Terri to be a single parent for a few days but she did amazing, which I should have known she would. Dylan was happy to see me when I got home and the “I want Daddy” phase he’s was kind of in didn’t go away.
This week I’ve decided to drive to the client everyday that I need to because the traffic is extremely light this week and this should be my final week going there. I have another project on my list for next week but this one is much closer, thank god.
